I have called St Simons Island home since 1985. While I was not born here, I got here as quickly as I could. I transferred to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center as an instructor for the Department of Justice. I was a single mother with three children moving from West Virginia with no support system locally. Trying to purchase a home was brutal because all Realtors represented the people selling homes. I believe that was my motivation to advocate for buyers when I became a licensed agent.

About Sally Hardman

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I had three children. My oldest son passed away in 2015 leaving behind a lovely widow and my two grandchildren both of whom are now in college. My remaining two children are living locally and love this area as much as I do. We are all huge Georgia Bulldog fans!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?

After spending twenty years with the Department of Justice, I became a real estate agent. After three years I opened Beachcomber Properties. This was connected to Beachcomber BBQ restaurant which was obtained in 2002. In 2017 I was exposed to the new real estate model of eXp Realty, LLC where I know mentor Real Estate Agents. I also own MooCow ice Cream shop.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

Let go and let God. Do not get all stressed out over what might happen.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

I hope to be doing exactly what I am doing now.

Sally Hardman & Our Community

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Mallery Street Cafe has the best lunch and breakfasts, but honestly you can’t go wrong with all of our fabulous restaurants. Beachcomber BBQ is still a favorite although my daughter sold it in 2022.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

Next year, 2025, I will have been here forty years! I have seen many changes going from dirt roads in the village to hosting the G-8 conference.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

Mildred Huey, a local artist and former French model. She led the most fabulous life!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?

I miss Enmaline and Hessie’s. There was an outside bar and pool tables plus the most fabulous food and views.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?

Our natural beauty!

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

I would love to have lunch with Terry Bradshaw and talk about the days of the steel curtain, and I would have him autograph my terrible towel! I would probably choose to have lunch at Brogan’s South.

For Fun

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

Moonstruck and The Sandpiper

They don’t know that I worked for the Bureau of Prisons Command Center located on Park Street in Manhattan during the 9/11 tragedy. We ran a federal prison with three cell phones for days.

Colonial Tours of St Simons Island

My children and grandchildren inspire me to be better.
